In Lake Elmo, Minnesota, the city council decided to ban the sale of all produce grown outside city limits. By reinstating this law which had been largely ignored, farmers lost the Constitutional protection that had previously guaranteed them the right to free trade. This Sunday, Bob talks to Anthony Sanders, an attorney for the Institute of Justice who represents a family of farmers fighting to sell their produce in Lake Elmo. It’s just another example of government treating Constitutional rights as a mere technicality. It starts with pumpkin sales in rural Minnesota and ends up with the total denial of economic freedom.
